Using Hydrogen Peroxide to Whiten Your Teeth

Aside from baking soda, hydrogen peroxide is one of the most popular teeth whitening alternative.   Hydrogen peroxide teeth whitening are not only cheap, but effective as well but you have to be careful when using it.  When using hydrogen peroxide, you must ensure that it is diluted well otherwise you risk damaging your gums.  Even just a little amount will cause you to feel burning sensation in your gums, it is vital you exercise caution.

There are several ways to use hydrogen peroxide to whiten your teeth.  You can use it as a mouth rinse; put a few drops of it on a small portion of water and gargle. An alternative is to dip a cotton swab in hydrogen peroxide and rub it on the surface of your teeth, then rinse shortly after.

Not only are hydrogen peroxide teeth whitening mouth rinse a great alternative, it also proves to be a healthy one.  According to a study, a mouth rinse with 1.5% hydrogen peroxide used twice a day can improve the health of your gums without any negative side effects.  However, using too much can cause irritation in the gums and tongue.  So if you’re going to use hydrogen peroxide to whiten your teeth, make sure you keep the amount to a minimum.
